Oh my goodness! My students live for Travis and Presley days! I begin the year with getting to know each other, home family, and school family and taking care of each other. This has been a great addition. After snack we always have "book time" while taking bathroom breaks and getting drinks. T and P are by far the most "read" books in our classroom this fall. I would love to share how I have incorported all of it into establishing a caring environment. I have used some of my own activities as well as some provided with the series. We are concluding our topic of study on friends, families, and good manners next week with a celebration. This will be a great opportunity to practice what we have been learning about. Travis and Presley will be there as we use the posters to help decorate for the "party" and have the books out for children to share with their families. We will definitely be taking pictures! Starting on October 6, 2011, Presley and I will have a weekly segment on News Channel 9 @ the 4 o'clock hour!  Our segment will be geared towards passing on Good Manners!  www.News9.com

On Tuesday we had the pleasure of delivering ADVENTURES WITH TRAVIS & PRESLEY 'Good Manners Series' curriculum kits to all PreK & Kindergarten teachers of Stillwater, OK. We were able to do this through EXCHANGE BANK of Stillwater & Perry, OK.!!! Our children's Curriculum (Full Bundle Set) includes: entertaining adventure DVDs, catchy sing-along songs, teacher resource booklets, Smart Board activities and other supporting materials!  Below is a photo of an orientation being led by Travis Brorsen to the Stillwater Teachers of Highland Park, Skyline, Will Rogers, Westwood, Richmond, & Sangre Ridge Elementary Schools.

Exchange Bank of Perry and Stillwater is donating Adventures with Travis & Presley, The Good Manners Series children's curriculum to over 40 classrooms in the Stillwater and Perry school district.  The Good Manners Series reinforces like skills, character development and shows children the benefits of having good manners.  It is used in the classroom as supplemental curriculum providing educators with an entire year of materials.  Travis & Presley have also added interactive SMART and Promethean games to be used in the classroom!

The State Department of Education's goal is to:

• Develop leaders in standards-based education at the district and regional levels;
• Provide training in data collection and analysis which helps teachers to make data-driven decisions in classroom instruction;
• Provide training in curriculum alignment and mapping; and Develop strategies to close the achievement gap among subgroups of students.\

ADVENTURES WITH TRAVIS & PRESLEY curriculum was completed in April of 2011 and is currently set to be implemented in almost 100 classrooms across the state of Oklahoma in the 2011 school year!
